YouTube: My First Short

Today, I discovered YouTube Shorts. I knew they existed, but didn’t engagement much. I don’t visit YouTube often. After researching and watching a few videos, I decided to launch my channel @curvyplusstyle and uploaded my first video.

I love the Shorts platform. The ability to easily get different angles without editing or other softwares is great. But I struggled with trying to talk in 60 seconds. I thought I’d read that you can have up to 3 minutes but couldn’t figure it out for that first video. But I’ve figured it out and let’s just say I can’t wait.

As I said the first video is…brief, but on the topic of department stores and Donna Karan.

I love a shirt dress. All styles. This spring / summer, I was on the hunt for a black one and something more unique like this image on Pinterest. While searching Google for black shirt dresses, I ran across this Donna Karan dress. The first thing that caught my attention was that a Donna Karan dress came in plus size. I had no idea. Secondly, I was enticed by the length of the sleeves. For the last couple of years, half and quarter length sleeves have been having a moment and I’ve been eating it up.

Here’s the thing: I found this at a department store. Dillard’s to be exact. Gasp! I’ve always shopped department stores, but since online shopping took over department stores have fallen out of favor and off my radar. This purchase leads me to believe that maybe I need to add them back into my rotation.

Moral of the story: Don’t sleep on department stores.
